Asimo, the robot with a humanoid appearance, once exhibited capabilities like no other robot you’ve ever seen on the market during its time of stardom. It ran, jumped, climbed stairs, reached for objects and oh yea, kicked a ball through a goal post. Obviously the former world’s most advanced robot could do a lot more than what was mentioned (2018). But, in this article, we’re going to watch Asimo kick a ball through a goal post.

Pretty cool, hey! Asimo not only kicked the ball through the goal post, but it actually backs up and runs towards the ball (to build momentum)to kick, just like us humans.
What was Asimo made from?
Asimo was made from magnesium alloy. The white material that covers the alloy is plastic resin.
What type of technology did Asimo’s designers use to control him?
Asimo was controlled using 802.11 (WI-FI) wireless technology, and a laptop or desktop computer.

Who would have loved to play a game of soccer with Asimo? Asimo looked like a lot of fun! It’s sad that the world’s most advanced robot had to go. To take its place, there are now actual AI humanoid robots on the market today: Sophia the robot’s “little sister”.
